At first, I have to admit that before these English classes I didn’t knew how to use a blog, and I actually didn’t even knew what a blog was. In fact, it’s true that I’m not a big fan of technology and that sort of things, but it is always a blessing to have the chance to learn new things. Even that I didn’t like, at first, the idea of writing every week in my super new blog, I have to admit that I have improved a lot my English and also I have learn a new simple and useful way of communication. I also think the blog system is a very good system for people like us, students of architecture and design, because we are always running and giving priority to our workshop issues. So it has being a very clever way to make us work and also give us some freedom with the organization of our time. Finally, I will say that I had learn a lot, I feel like I improved my English, and by now I have more trust in myself when I have to speak in English or write it.

Victory city

First, I have to clear that cities are the consequence of the way that humans live, the reflection of their relation with Nature.

About this, I think that the way of building cities has turn more and more mechanic and functional. We are getting far from our human nature, and more consumed by technology.

Actually, because of that I think Victory City is planed to be too modern to be real. I agree with the fact of planning cities, but I believe that the plan have to be elaborated with the people. Only the habitants from different cities would know how they want to live, so their participation in the process of planning is indispensable.

Finally, I think that cities from future should be more related with old cities. The feeling that their habitants had for their earth was more respectful than ours. We don’t valuing our environment and that’s getting clear with the nature’s reaction. We have to realize that maybe technology has not the answers for all our problems. We have to look around and react by now!

My lovely digital camera

I think , I have already tell you people that I’m not a big fan of technology, but I’ve learn how to live in a world that’s more and more involved with it staffs. In fact, I could even choose one piece of technology that I couldn’t live without. It would be my digital camera. This is definitely my favorite piece of technology because it allows me to catch my precious moments and kip them forever. For example, when I traveled to Brazil with nine of my best friends from school this summer, my camera didn’t work fine, so I couldn’t take the pictures that I would like to take. But, thankfully there were two more cameras at the group that have taken all the pictures that I have by now and look every day since summer.

Plus, my camera is also an instrument that makes work easier. It actually allows me to register all the visual information that I need for doing a project. And it’s easier to work with it because you can immediately get the photos into the computer.

Finally, I will get very sad if I loose my camera, first of all, because it was a Christmas present from my father and also because I think my life would be boring without all the memories I can save with it.

My favorite web site

First, I have to define myself almost as an ant technologic girl. I know that I have to use it and learn how to do it, but I really don’t like computers and all that it’s related with them. Maybe because of that, I use Internet mainly for academics issues.
However, if I have to choose my favorite website, I will take http://www.lyrics.com/. In this site you only find lyrics of different songs. It is actually a sort of menu with different artists and their singles, and then when you click it, the lyric appears.
Actually I like this site because it allow me to sing the different songs that I listen, and of course that I love, and also to understand their lyrics. In fact, mostly all of my favorite singers are English spoken. That’s why with this web site I have learned a lot of English.
Finally, I recommend you people to explore this site if you like music and want to learn the lyrics of your favorite songs. Take a shoot!

The FAU's Olympic Games

I will like to inform you that this week start the Olympic games between the teams from different carrier of the Universidad de Chile. I’m part of the volley ball team, and almost all the matches start at 3 pm. So it will be possible that this Wednesday I will not be able to go to the English class. I ask you to excuse me for loosing it. I also think, I’m actually almost sure, that the school direction justify the absent of all the students that belong to some sport team. I appreciate your comprehension.

The ecology crisis

All generation must face a time marked by its history. This situation locates us, to the diverse generations, in different realities. Where each one of these has a subject in particular, a conflict, which must confront the society.In relation with this, I postulate that the related conflict to our present society, to our generational reality, is the critical situation of environment.In effect, it is time to change our relationship with the earth. We must take care about the nature and its preservation. It is clear that the global heating and the contamination will not change their destructive course if at this moment the necessary measures are not adopted. It is, therefore, urgent that the citizenship becomes aware from its influence in the environment. Indeed, we comprised of a cycle in which each of ours decisions and actions modify the system. That’s why he must quickly react and get educated about this subject, so we will be able to think about measures and answers to all the conflicts and catastrophic issues that are related to our environment and are happening by now.
