one of my favorite songs

{*badu harmonizing in the intro*}
[chorus one: erykah badu]
when she wants plenty, she gets plenty
when she wants plenty, she gets plenty
when she wants plenty, she gets plenty
then she gets plenty more, uhh
{repeat chorus one}
[guru]
uhh

watchin her drivin by, in her new whip so fly
wish she could sing me a lullaby, to scoop her i've got to try
in her eyes, there's a flame that burns right through my soul
can't pretend to be cool, about to lose my control
yeah i know she's got plenty; admirers, she's got many
like an exotic fantasy, into a frenzy she sends me
wow i have to sit down, and gather my wits now
i wanna caress those hips now, wanna kiss those lips now

[badu]
hello? hey babyyy
i know you called and i didn't answer twice
but baby that's oh-kay it's nice
for you to call anyway see, okay, see uhh
hey babyyy
you know it's okay if you don't call me
anymore cause i got a-plenty
truckload of niggaz like you at my door {*dial tone*}
[chorus one]
[guru]
yup
and every day is her day, and every year is her year
anyone tried to violate, they could straight dissapear
she don't care if you play yourself, tryin to step to her
the illest of gangsters, i show and respect to her
truly glamourous, she ain't impressed and it shows
she don't like your new clothes, she don't care about your playa pose
do you suppose i could hook up and spend time with her?
she's just how i dreamed - i'll bust my nine for her
[chorus two: erykah badu]
when she gets plenty, she gets plenty
when she gets plenty, she gets plenty
when she wants plenty, she gets plenty
any damn thang she wants, uhh
[guru]
uhh
surgeon general - i provide vitamins and minerals
the charge that she's got on me, should be federal
i was told never put the two before the one son
but always cultivate your wisdom, to help you build your kingdom
i wanna be the answer to every question she has
so when i wish to enter, she'll be lettin me pass
i know she wants to be with g-o-d eventually, but still
she got everything; yeah the girl's got plenty

[badu]
flowers in her bedroom
perfume on her neck
nectar from a mason jar
seven dollar dress; she's
super cute, and plenty bad
thirty twenty-two thirty-six and a half
i, hope the dude will realize
she got the silky(?) (?)sexy bedroom eyes
baby baby please don't break yo' neck
cause you gon' have a wreck
{*tires squeal*}
cause when it comes to love i get plenty, degrees one-twenty
my back slipped out my dress - oops!

[chorus three: erykah badu]
when she gets plenty, she gets plenty
(she gets it all)
when she wants plenty, she gets plenty
(uhh)
when she wants plenty, she gets plenty
(c'mon)
and she gets plenty more
(plenty more)
ahh
when she wants plenty, she gets plenty
when she wants plenty, she gets plenty
(mm, she gets it all)
when she wants plenty, she gets plenty
and any damn thang i want - right?

[guru]
that's right
in this game of life it takes a lot to win
plenty more baby's what i got to give

[badu]
yeah yeah baby that's really nice
but i'm tryin to read my book and you're in my light

[guru]
uhh - a woman like you could help me reach the top
if i get a chance to love you, mm, i won't stop

[badu]damn! oh huh, what? huh, whaaat?
i didn't hear you i was thinkin bout some stuff

[guru]baby you so fine i wanna smack myself
i don't need no support i'm gonna back myself

[badu]
hooo baby you so sweet
now can you get the lotion and rub my feets

[guru]
in massage therapy i got a master degree
i give you plenty more, than what you askin from me

[badu]i need a little bit of space, a little bit of wealth

[guru]

[badu] {*laughing*}

Guru featuring Erikah Badu

A mixture of jazz and hip-hop makes this song one of my favorites, as the combination of rhythms is very original and contagious. The words are a dialogue between the authors, Guru and Erykah Badu, where he tries to seduce Erykah and she puts up all sorts of flirty conditions to give in, giving the song a very playful and sensual quality. Besides I had the chance to see Guru in person when he came to Chile last year, and Erykah Badu is one of my favorite singers. So it makes it easier for me to sing her songs . She really produces an incredible effect on me with her songs, her rhythms and her particular tone of voice which suits very well with mine. So it is easier for me to sing her songs. In fact I would love to find a man who sings like Guru so me could sing her songs together in public. Singing is one of my great passions but unfortunately I have not been able to develop as I wish. This is clearly one of my unresolved matters in my life.
Finally, I feel very identified with the song ever since a friend offered me a Guru's CD with the song plenty, which I heard over and over again. In fact friends and members of my family said I seemed to be a reverberating disc, listening always to the same song. I strongly recommend those who want to put pep into their day, to have the song , and I can assure them they will never get bored to listen to it.

Sumary of a book that I like

This book has a particular sense for me as in school I never was a good reader. It happened that after reading the first page I could not stop until I finished the entire book. Thanks to this I began to love reading. Reading the book introduced me into a fascinating world , as the author surrounds you in imaginary odors so vividly described that it is possible to truly smell them. It is really a unique experience , amusing and highly recommended.

The book relates the story of one of the most genial and abominable French men living in the 18th century. He was born in a fish market, his mother having abandoned him after giving birth. She was later discovered by the police and put into jail.

Since then Jean Baptist lived in different places, with masters who disliked his eccentricity : Grenouille´s body exhaled no odor from his body. Besides he always brought bad luck to those who received him, falling in disgrace after his departure.

One day he went to another town, searched for work in a small perfume shop. He learned their new ways of extracting fragrances and began to master adequate distillation methods with which he experimented to obtain his maximum objective : to capture the female odor, that essence that made them particular. His aim was to create a perfect perfume and to be acknowledged for his talent. So Grenouille began to kill a number of beautiful maidens in order to extract their "essence", their special odor.

After committing many murders he was discovered and he admitted his crimes without being able to justify them. The day arrived when he was to be decapitated in the public square at the sight of an immense crowd. When he arrived, there was complete silence. Something happened that made everyone believe he was innocent. The ten thousand spectators started to take off their clothes , and an orgy developed. And all this due to a few drops of the perfume he had created and spread into the air.

Disconcerted, he went to Paris wanting to die. He spread on him the famous fragrance and everyone approached him thinking he was an angel. They began to praise him, then to cut his hair, to scratch him and finally to eat him. So Grenouille died dismembered on the 26th of June, 1767.

BBC

When I first visited the BBC web site it seemed to me an entertainment but also a didactic page. I thought visiting this site could help me to practice and ameliorate my English . In fact this page is called " learning English " so it should correspond to a basic level , allowing learning to be more understandable and amusing for the beginner. Probably- the page is mostly-y used by young adolescents , too basic for adults.
